Administration

In July 2017 I transitioned from my full-time faculty position into a temporary role as the Interim Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences at McHenry County College (MCC); and then in June 2018, I accepted the permanent position.

As the Dean of HSS, I lead an academic division of forty full-time and sixty adjunct faculty members to fulfill an institutional mission that Our focus is learning. Student success is our goal. I work closely with nine academic department chairs and the Associate Vice President of Arts and Sciences to schedule courses, track enrollments, and maximize efficiency and service to students. I observe and evaluate adjunct faculty members; I promote academic programs; and I serve on various committees, including the Assessment Team and the Strategic Enrollment Management Team.

Before taking on this role, I worked in an administrative role on a part-time basis as the Chair of Faculty Development at MCC. I served as chair for six years in addition to my job as an instructor of English at the college. Read more about my time in faculty development here.
